The Tatachilla Ecosanctuary comprises 3.4-hectares of beautiful native wilderness on the Tatachilla Lutheran College campus, which has been modelled on the natural ecosystems that once existed in the McLaren Vale region.
The sanctuary provides all Tatachilla students with the opportunity to spend intentional time in the natural world and increase their knowledge of sustainability principles and the processes that underpin our natural ecosystems.

Tatachilla is one of only seven schools in South Australia to have a revolutionary iFarm.
The iFarm is a fully computerised, outdoor farm research station that forms an exciting part of the college’s expanded agricultural science pathway.
The iFarm features eight automated garden beds that allow students to compare the impact of different soil types, irrigation levels, fertilisers and micro-climates on crop growth.

Tatachilla Lutheran College is built on Kaurna Country. We acknowledge the Kaurna peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and learn. We respect and support their spiritual relationship with Country and connection to their land, waters and community. Through openness and truth-telling we seek to celebrate the traditions, memories, histories and contributions of all First Nations peoples and work together to establish a shared national identity and uphold the oldest continuing living culture in the world.
