Dear Members of the Tatachilla Lutheran College Community,

 

In May, this year Mr Cain McDonald our respected Principal of five years informed us of his decision to take up the challenge of a position with the Emergency Services with the South Australian Government.

 

Since notification of his departure we have as a Board installed an Interim Principal to our College for the period until the 31st December 2020. Mr Noel Mifsud has undertaken this role with great professionalism and a deep living faith providing stability and strong Christian leadership. I thank him on behalf of the College Board and the College Community for his grace in fulfilling this role.

 

This Interim appointment has allowed the College Board to work towards the appointment of a Principal of the calibre Tatachilla Lutheran College deserves as our fourth Principal.

 

After receiving a strong contingent of applicants for the position of College Principal a panel of College Board members, a representative from Lutheran Education South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia (LESNW) and an experienced Principal from a Lutheran R-12 College conducted a comprehensive recruitment process. We thank all candidates who applied.

 

The preferred candidate was recommended by the interview panel, endorsed by both LESNW and the Lutheran Church of Australia. This process was extensive and after a resolution of the General Church Board of the Lutheran Church of Australia was ratified unanimously by the Elected Members of the Tatachilla Lutheran College Board on Thursday 24th September.

 

I am very pleased to advise the College community Mr Noel Mifsud has accepted the appointment as our Principal for 2021 and beyond.

 

Mr Mifsud will lead us seamlessly with his Faith filled heart. Noel brings 17 years of Principalship and an extensive 35 years in Christian education into 2021 and beyond. Noel is an inspirational leader with a shared vision for our College that he will now be able to cultivate for our Community. It is an exciting time for the College. The Board congratulates Noel and looks forward to working closely with him as our new Principal as we continue to grow the vision and mission of this great College.

 

As the final term of the year begins, I would like to acknowledge the care and dedication that all staff at Tatachilla have devoted to students, families and colleagues in this very challenging year. Thank you.
