Anything can happen
"Anything can happen, and it did happen." Mary Poppins
An outstanding portrayal and recreation of Disney’s beautiful story of Mary Poppins, saw our students and staff bring this to life at Hopgood Theatre last week to sold out audiences. This has been one of the most successful musicals ever in the history of our College with a literal waiting list for tickets after the three shows on Friday and Saturday sold out.
I commend all students and staff involved for the countless hours, contributions, rehearsals, energy and passion to which they poured into this event. In my discussions with audience members, time and time again I heard that this production ‘was so much more than a school play’. The commitment of each student, whether involved on stage or off stage, was evident and inspiring. Congratulations and thank you to each one of you!
Many staff were involved throughout the preparation and realisation of Mary Poppins. From costumes, to sets, props, make-up, lighting, orchestra, choreography, sound, visual effects, supervision and transport, there was a plethora of staff involved from right across the College - some seen and some unseen. Please accept my thanks for your personal contributions.
I especially acknowledge the leadership and vision of Mrs Liz Bentley, Director; Ms Sandy Lee, Production Manager and Assistant Director, and Mr Josh Koop, Musical Director. Their ability to drive and steer the mammoth ship that was Mary Poppins was simply awe-inspiring and demonstrated the collective wisdom and talents of our staff. We thank and recognise each one of you.
May our cast and crew celebrate and rest in the incredible success that was Mary Poppins!

Marvellous Mothers
This weekend we celebrate Mother’s Day. This commenced earlier this week with our ‘thanks’ through a community breakfast. There were over 120 members of our community who enjoyed a delightful breakfast, recognising the role of mothers in our lives.
We extend our blessings to all mothers in our community for this Sunday, and every day, as you continue to live out this very special role in your families.
May we extend our love and compassion to our mums or those special women who provide motherly care to us all.
Mr Cain McDonald
