This year’s Book Week celebrations brought together students, staff and special guests to share in the creativity, imagination and joy that great stories inspire.
With the theme Symphony of Stories, our annual dress-up parade was a highlight of the week, with students embracing characters from much-loved books. Year 12 students joined the celebrations, helping to lead our enthusiastic junior years students across the stage at our R-12 Assembly.
The Book Week Assembly also featured a special reading of Wombat Stew by Sue Matena, a former junior years Performing Arts teacher who spent 17 years at the college. Our talented student musicians provided a live musical accompaniment, creating a memorable performance for our community.
Meanwhile, the annual Bake-a-Book competition reached a new milestone, with a record 133 entries transforming favourite stories into imaginative edible creations. Congratulations to all students who took part.
Thank you to our library staff and House Coordinators for bringing another successful Book Week to life and for fostering a love of reading throughout our college community.
