From the Head of Junior School
When a child joins the Junior School we welcome the whole family to our community. An ongoing partnership between students, parents and teachers enables a seamless Reception to Year 12 learning journey.
Our dedicated and experienced teachers create caring learning communities in each classroom and learning space. Surrounded by mature trees and well-maintained gardens, the Junior School enjoys a setting and outlook that inspires curiosity and imagination. With a seasonal creek, many mature trees and expansive areas of lawn, opportunities for outdoor learning are on our doorstep.
We have many multi-purpose learning spaces, including two full sized courts undercover, a Junior School oval and fully equipped College gymnasium with its own dance studio. Our library has an extensive collection of children’s fiction and non-fiction books and is a hub for innovation and creative thinking.
Junior school students share the responsibility to care for the bettongs and potoroos that live and breed in safety of the EcoClassroom sanctuary. The EcoClassroom develops in students an understanding of the importance of nature and natural processes, while fostering a caring and responsible approach towards the environment.
Integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is another approach to learning that provides students with the necessary 21st Century capabilities. Our 1:1 iPad Program is being successfully implemented in all classrooms with a focus on innovative use of digital technologies and cyber safety.
We invite and encourage families to walk closely with us in a partnership of learning for the children entrusted in our care.
