Join us for Twilight Food Affair 2024
FRIDAY 22 MARCH 2024 | 4.30PM - 9.00PM
Families everywhere are invited to grab their picnic rugs and head to Tatachilla Lutheran College on 22 March for the biggest family night there is: the 2024 Twilight Food Affair.
The annual college fundraiser, which is now one of the biggest community events in McLaren Vale, attracts 5,000+ people and gives all families the chance to relax and connect in a safe and festive environment before the close of Daylight Saving and the onset of winter.
Set in the lush landscape of one of Australia’s oldest and most acclaimed wine regions, the event showcases some of the best loved food trucks from across the Fleurieu – offering tasty treats from Italy, Greece, Mexico, Spain, India, Argentina and Vietnam – as well as a delicious range of freshly prepared Australian bush food and homemade desserts.
This year there will be a seven-minute fireworks display and four hours of live musical performances.
Adelaide singing sensation and multi-instrumentalist – Trav Collins – will be making his Twilight debut on stage at 5:30pm.
Things to know:
- This year we are running a Twilight raffle that is open to all families and members of the wider community. Tickets are $10.00 and there is no limit to the number of tickets that families can purchase. Prizes include a Microsoft Surface Go 3 tablet with keyboard and pen; a ‘Feed Me’ voucher for two people at the Salopian Inn (McLaren Vale); and a case of six bottles of 2017 Grenache from Samson Tall winery. Winners will be announced at the Twilight Food Affair.
- The number of food trucks on site has been increased from 2023 to to accommodate the exponential increase in the event's popularity. However, queues are inevitable and we encourage families to arrive as early as they can to claim a spot and enjoy the diverse food offering.
- The Tatachilla barbeque will be cooking up quick and tasty meals from 4:30pm onwards, giving children the chance to get something into their bellies before the onset of ‘food rush hour’.
- The size of our pop-up bar has been doubled so that queues are shorter and more mums and dads have the opportunity to sample our stellar range of donated wines and beers.
- We encourage families to enter the event via the main college entrance on Tatachilla Road and take advantage of the ample parking available in the main college car park and surrounding paddocks.
- Entry to the Twilight Food Affair is by gold coin donation.
- There will be some tables and chairs provided but families are welcome to BYO chairs and picnic rugs.
- Families are asked to refrain from bringing their own alcohol or glasses on site, as this is in breach of the college’s liquor licence.
- No pets allowed.
- All funds raised on the night will be invested into enhanced teaching and learning experiences for Tatachilla Lutheran College students.
